Coaching is fundamental to everything we do in ministry, from discipling new believers to developing new leaders. Dynamic churches and ministries have coaching woven into their genetic code. CoachNet's desire is to see people become intentional about coaching -- either in beginning to coach others or in improving the quality of coaching they currently deliver. Everybody talks about it... it's time to start doing it!

Receive qualified training
To coach people well and effectively, you need training. If you are to function as a guide, walking alongside someone as they venture onto new paths, you need to have a sense of the roadmap that lies ahead. That doesn't mean that you know where to go, or even that you've been there ahead of them. It just means you have the basic skills to guide them along each stage of their own unique path.

The training process is easy with CoachNet's Coach Certification program -- a specialized, comprehensive process that prepares Christian leaders to effectively coach and develop others.

What you'll learn
In you're training, you'll learn about the five R's of coaching:

  • Relate: establish coaching relationship and agenda
  • Reflect: discover and explore key issues
  • Refocus: determine priorities and next steps
  • Resource: provide support and encouragement
  • Review: evaluate, celebrate, and revise plans

In addition, we've found that there's a big difference between "hope you become competent" and "ensure that you become competent" when it comes to coach training. Through a qualitative research project, we've discovered 9 core competencies that effective coaches practice, and we've geared our training around developing and assessing them:

  • Abiding in Christ
  • Self-assessing
  • Communicating
  • Establishing
  • Supporting
  • Concluding
  • Diagnosing
  • Planning
  • Monitoring
