As a young church planter, Bob Logan had a vision. He dreamed that thousands of church planters were lined up on the California seashore. God spoke to them in a loud voice: "Okay, everyone, listen up! Your objective: swim to Catalina Island, 22 miles away. Line up, and start at my signal!" The pistol fired and the planters entered the water. Some splashed and floundered. Some sank immediately. Only a few made it.
As church planter after church planter was pulled into the same undercurrent, making the same fatal mistakes over and over, Bob began asking God questions: "Why aren't there buoys to warn them of hazards to avoid during the swim? Why aren't there lifeboats to rescue those who are going under? Where are the church planters who have completed the swim successfully? Why aren't they returning to tell others how to do it? Lord, we're not learning from the successes or failures of other church planters. Please show me what to do. I promise you this: If you ever place me in the position to help the others lined up on the shore, that's what I want to do."
Twenty years later, the Lord showed Bob the fulfillment of the seashore vision -- CoachNet. By harnessing the power of the internet, CoachNet provides a communication and resourcing tool to network Christian leaders to help them learn from the successes and failures of others.
In the intervening years, God has also brought together a team that is committed to working together with church leaders to see God's purpose for His church accomplished.
