Coaching Leaders for Ministry Multiplication

Frequently Asked Questions

Info | FAQs | Success Stories | Site Tour

1) What is CoachNet?

CoachNet was started out of a vision of walking alongside and coaching leaders as they work in their ministries. It represents a broad vision: creating and resourcing a network of leaders. Unlike organizations that offer model-based approaches to resourcing leaders, CoachNet is here to support you in the uniqueness of your environment rather than superimposing a particular model or structure.

2) What kinds of support does Coachnet provide?
We are here to walk alongside you in your ministry, so we offer support in a number of areas:

  • Leadership development. As you prepare to gather, develop, and coach new leaders, CoachNet stands ready to help you with coaching, training, and consulting. We also offer an extensive online library of information about starting and leading churches, web courses to learn about topics such as church planting, worksheets and checklists, an online coaching tool to organize your relationships, and a certification process to ensure the effectiveness of your coaching.
  • Church Health. Many of our churches desire to be obedient, but certain barriers to health seem insurmountable and real fulfillment remains elusive. By implementing the Natural Church Development (NCD) process, we've seen thousands of churches increase their effectiveness through improved church health. We offer training in Natural Church Development, as well as resources to guide you along in the process.
  • Church Multiplication. Cultivating church multiplication movements is one of our primary passions. We partner with leaders to see multiplication movements that will take the gospel across the street and to the ends of the earth in fulfillment of the Great Commission. You see, we cannot fulfill the Great Commission simply through the expansion of existing churches or the addition of new churches. We must focus on multiplication: developing churches that plant churches that plant churches that plant churches.

3) What does a membership offer?

  • Unlimited file access to church leadership worksheets, PowerPoints and PDFs on a wide array of topics.
  • Unlimited access to our online coaching tool. You can create as many relationships and sessions with people as you want. This tool helps you manage your relationships, and follow up with ease.
  • Training courses designed to fit your learning objectives in areas like church planting, Natural Church Development and coaching. You have the option to assign a mentor to walk through the courses with you, and provide feedback to your questions and thoughts about topics for study.

4) What kind of material is on the members' side of the site?

  • A library of information for church leaders. We can’t find another site online that offer such a wealth of principle-based resources. If you can find one, let us know by emailing support@coachnet.org, and we’ll give you a CoachNet membership for free.
  • Training courses. Most seminaries don’t teach you about things like coaching and how to consider if church planting is right for you. Dr. Bob Logan, a seminary professor at Fuller Theological Seminary, authors our online training courses. You could spend hours searching on Google for courses like this but you won’t find them. Our training courses are interactive in that you can answer questions and assign a mentor to work with you.
  • An online coaching tool. Our coaching management tool allows you to list your relationships and sessions, and prepare items for the agenda. It supports a two-way flow of communication with you and the people you coach, keeping your email inbox from getting cluttered with disorganized notes about relationships and agendas.
  • Natural Church Development material. Natural Church Development is a process based on validated research about church health. CoachNet has developed a wealth of information about NCD, including analysis guides, insights, PowerPoint presentations, and reflection questions. Our five-step process for developing your church’s health serves as an organizing principle for these resources.

5) What can coaching do for my ministry and me?

Does this sound like your vision: raising and multiplying leaders, developing healthy reproducing small groups, cultivating church health and growth, starting and multiplying new churches?

If so, you'll want to develop strategic actions in order to move toward the accomplishment of your vision. And you'll want somebody to walk alongside you through that process. Coaching provides encouragement, bridges the gap between vision and reality, cultivates wisdom and strategic insights, discovers breakthrough opportunities, maintains focus on the truly important, and empowers you to fulfill God's calling for your life.

With coaching, you'll gain the traction and momentum in your ministry to transform lives. Through the art of focused listening, powerful questions, and strategic insights, a coach will help you get moving and accomplish your goals.

6) Are you affiliated with a denomination?

CoachNet is not affiliated with a denomination. We are committed to helping Christians from a number of ministry contexts. We often work with denominational groups, mostly mainline and evangelical churches.

7) How can I connect with other ministry leaders?

Networking with other ministry leaders is one good way to receive some of the encouragement and resourcing you need. CoachNet provides several ways to connect with other ministry leaders:

  • Customized networks: Our site is a communication platform for people to share news and resources with each other. In your network you can participate in forums and email other leaders.
  • Forums. You can design a forum to ask questions of other ministry leaders, seeking their input about topics such as church multiplication and coaching.
  • Online Coaching Tool. With our online coaching tool you can set up and manage your coaching relationships with more efficiency. You can set items for agenda and prayer, schedule action steps and manage emails.
