Coaching Generously for Leaders

A leader I used to coach described our relationship like this:  "I can't think of a single thing he ever taught us that came out of his mouth first."  The most effective coaches really stick to drawing out wisdom and insight from the people they work with.  When we start making suggestions, that's where we get off track.

Coaching at it's core is a generous proposition.  It's all about the other person.  How do you make sure you're not inserting yourself into what your client is working on?
